The broken and afflicted need holistic places to go to heal and become whole again, in the name of Jesus. I once heard a minister say that churches should be hospitals for the broken, and I agree with this idea. We need to create churches that are healing places for the broken and afflicted, filled to the brink with Jesus' loving heart and compassion. Jesus calls us to be his hands and feet and heart to the world around us, and I believe we can start by creating churches and ministries whose first priority is demonstrating Jesus' great compassion for the broken, afflicted and oppressed. They need to be beautiful, peaceful places that demonstrate God and Jesus' deep and passionate love for the hurting people of the world. They need to filled with compassionate, Jesus-loving people who are prepared to minister to and counsel and pray with the broken and afflicted and help them on their journey back to wholeness, in Jesus' name. They need to serve the holistic welfare and well-being -- the physical, mental and spiritual welfare and well-being -- of broken and afflicted people, in Jesus' name. They need to be prayer warriors who pray over the broken and afflicted, in Jesus' name. They need to serve healthy, nutritious and wholesome meals to those who cannot afford nutritious meals, in Jesus' name. They need to nurture and love, in the name of Jesus, the broken and afflicted with the healing touch of Jesus. I pray today that such churches and ministries proliferate across the earth, and that we serve as the midwives of God's vision of a earth where Jesus' love, peace and compassion reigns and the broken and afflicted are made whole and beautiful again. IN JESUS' BEAUTIFUL AND COMPASSIONATE AND HOLY NAME.
